battlestar-galactica-full

I haven’t posted yet (other than Twitter) about how much I loved the season finale to Battlestar Galactica. I thought it was completely awesome, it exceeded my expectations in so many ways. I especially loved that it ended on a generally ‘up’ note (which I wasn’t expecting at all,) and that it tied the series into present-day society. I love it in science fiction when seemingly ‘alien’ realities are tied into our own (Planet of the Apes, Star Trek, off the top of my head.)

I loved how they wrapped up the Opera House, loved ‘Angel Starbuck’ and how the spiritualism of the series (original included) was still intact at the end. Loved Cavil’s borderline-comical sudden suicide. Loved the redemption and breakdown of Baltar. Loved seeing Ron Moore pop up in one of the final scenes.

Still trying to figure out why Adama decided to live the rest of his life away from his son, which is the only thing that seemed “huh?” to me. I understand choosing isolation in grieving, but for the rest of your life? When your beloved son is still around?

There’s a really good Ron Moore interview up at IGN. Good read if you care.
